It’s Seven Question Beer Sunday (Part 5) and today’s edition features replies from @christina_hazyboyapparel and her beer partner in crime, @all_hail_the_haze (aka Reed). I’ve been to Texas 3 or 4 times, where they both live, but I only know them thru our Insta pages. Seems they both enjoy beers from New England, and I like beers from Texas. It wasn’t too long after we both started to follow each other, a beer trade was soon discussed. The rest they say is…porch bomb history!
Reed posts a lot of pics and stories of beer shares at their home. Christina likes to pose with the beers she drinks, sometimes with a theme. Occasionally, their doggo Maya will become the highlight reel of the day. I wish the people I enjoy following didn’t live so far away. 1 – Have you ever done any beer trading?
(C) OMG, YES! Reed has been trading for a lot longer than me, but I finally got into it when I started my beerstagram back in May of 2020. I remember my first trade because I wrapped my cans in pink tissue paper and added a thank you card, haha! Reed thought I was so extra, but it’s the little things, you know? haha 🙂
(R) Yes, a lot haha. On a pretty large scale. I’ve even traded with you! (editor note – Love me some more Jester King so anytime)
2 – Favorite brewery or beer from New England?
(C) Are you really going to make me choose between Trillium & Tree House?! Because I can’t do it…I love them both!! LOL!
(R) Hard to pick just one but Hill Farmstead, Foam, Four Quarters. Foam IPAs really hit the spot for me. And Aaron (barleywine) from Hill Farmstead has been one of my favorites recently.
3 – What dead beer, as in no longer made, would you like to see come back to life?
(C) I can’t think of a dead beer off the top of my head, but I do wish Emilio TIPA by Pinthouse Pizza & Diamonds in my Mouth IPA by Spindletap were all-year-round and not just seasonal, lol. That counts, right? 🙂
(R) Ooh, Live Oak Treehugger, it’s a barleywine that I think might be brought back to life sometime in the future.
4 – An out of town friend pops in unannounced, wants you to go brewery hopping, what do you do?
(C) As much as I LOVE a spontaneous brewery trip, I feel like I would rather host a beer share. It always hypes my friends/family up when they’re in town and I plan one. We have a solid beer share group here & it’s truly been what I look forward to the most! But I don’t want to leave you hanging, so my recommendations for breweries in Austin, TX are Jester King (classic staple), Batch (up incoming & FIRE Hazys!!!), Austin East Ciders (instagrammable & just cute AF), Pinthouse (pizza & beer, need I say more?), Zilker Brewing (location & vibes) & Southern Heights (underrated & V cool!!)
(R) I immediately plan a big share on my back patio with a bunch of my local beer friends and we hit Pinthouse Pizza, Jester King, Live Oak, and several other local breweries.
5 – How many beer-related shirts do you own?
(C) I have a few tees, maybe like 3, but my all-time fav will be our HazyBoy Apparel cropped top! It’s so soft and looks good on everyone!!
(R) Probably between 5-10.
6 – Ever wear lederhosen or a dirndl while drinking an Oktoberfest beer?
(C) Lol, no, but omg I’m so here for dressing up in a beer outfit! Thanks for the idea for some upcoming insta pics 😎
(R) I haven’t but I would rock one right now if you sent me one 😁
7 – Your go-to beer on a scorching hot & humid summer day?
(C) You may think this is crazy, but my go-to beer will forever be Heavy Hands by Spindletap, lol! Spindletap, please sponsor me! Lol, jk If I were to guess Reed’s it’s prob a Live Oak… he LOVES working outside and drinking a good pils!
(R) Live oak pilsner and live oak hefeweizen. If you can’t tell, I love live oak.
